PROs N' CONs OF LAUGHTER

Studies suggest that laughter could relieve pain, facilitated digestion and improve memory.Besides, it also can boost our immune system, reduces level of stress hormones and relaxes muscles throughout the body.

In simple words: laughter makes us feel better and happier.

The good thing is, you don't have to rely on natural laughter to get the benefits. You don't even need jokes or comedies to laugh. The fact is our body cannot differentiate between real laughter and fake laughter. So it doesn't matter where you are or what you do, you could always use laughter as a healthy exercise.

If you're stressed out during class or whenever you feel like banging your head onto a wall, maybe you could consider one of these:
  • Handphone laughter-Pretend you are talking to a friend on the phone and laugh out loud.
  • Silent laughter-Put on a smile and try to laugh without emitting a sound.
  • Humming laughter-Laugh with a hum, like you are suppressing laughter.
  • Hearty laughter-Put your hands in the air and go HA-HA-HA.
  • Lion laughter-With your eyes wide open, stick out your tongue, bare your claws and roar with laughter.
15 minutes of laughter is enough to energise you throughout the day.
So, the next time your homeworks piling up, or your lecturers 'lecture' you, just choose one of these and laugh your head off.

HOWEVER

Certainly there is no limit to laughter. But people with a certain conditions should be cautious when they're participating in a laughing exercise which can be quite rigorous at times.
The conditions include :
  • After underwent surgery
  • People with hernia and haemorrhoids
  • People with heart disease
  • People who have exercise-induced asthma

Laughing and smiling are always the best way for closure.
